BA’s Desk:
Local News: (KC, Topeka, & St. Joe) Congratulations to Brother Dan Schorr on his retirement Dec 1st, 2005. Dan started in the trade in August 1975. Gregg & Amanda Laney gave me two pictures for the baby section this month. The 1st is of Emma Laney, born 1 lb 2 oz 4 ½ mo premature on Oct. 17, 2003; and the 2nd is Emma today. Look real close, that’s a wedding ring not a bracelet on her wrist. Retiree’s luncheons: Feb 23 - Hometown Buffet, 8350 N. Broadway, K.C. Mo (816) 436-5336 Mar 30 - Hometown Buffet, 13720 E. Land of Oz & Beyond: (Wichita, & Springfield) Hey, you guys don’t have any good stories or pictures. What about pics from the Christmas party?
Commentary: “I Love You” These are words that as a relationship grows, are less often said and more often shown. The need to say these three little words becomes less, as a relationship grows but not necessarily less important. It is understood that you love each other. You feel the love and it isn’t necessary to always be reinforcing it. Now that is from a man’s point of view, and I’m relative certain that my wife might feel a bit more secure in our relationship if I professed it on a more regular basis. However, at least once a year it is brought home to us in the way of Valentine’s Day, that not only are you expected to say that you Love each other but cards, flowers, & presents are also expected. So much so, that it sometimes becomes more important than those true feelings you have about each other. Trying to get just the right card or any card for that matter becomes a big deal and the stress can overwhelm us. Especially when it falls on a Tuesday and you’re out of town all week. Don’t let the Hallmark moment ruin what should be something wonderful between you and your Lovey-Dovey. This year think of all those feelings down deep inside when you had your first. You know what I’m talking about: That 1st date, 1st kiss, 1st time alone, 1st child, and all the other times that your love has brought you and yours that special connection that has kept you together all these years. Valentine’s Day may be thrust upon us but the feelings between you and your loved one’s are constant and last all year long. Then again, it doesn’t hurt to have a day on the calendar to remind some of us to say “I LOVE YOU”… and buy a card!
