NOTICE –The Election for the Executive Board Trustee position will be held at the June 14, 2007 General Meeting. Absentee ballots must be requested seven (7) days prior to the election. It is suggested that all Local 12 members read Article 11 of the Local 12 Constitution and By-Laws to understand the election process thoroughly.

Wichita Annual Fishing Tournament-will be held on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 at Milford Lake in Kansas. Tournament fee is $25.00 plus $5.00 per pot. Start time is 7:00 am at the Brush Creek Marina with weigh-in between 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm Saturday and 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm Sunday. Cash awards for 1^st thru 5^th heavy stringer, Big Bass, Big Crappie and Big Walleye. Deadline entry is May 28, 2007. Contact the Local 12 office or Rex Gragg for an entry form (no money will be accepted without the entry form). ( A note from Rex Gragg-I have had reports that a few people are pooling fish together. Please, let’s keep the tournaments honest. The little bit of money earned in the pots is not worth cheating for.)

Member News

Results of the Kansas City Annual Fishing Tournament- held at Marion Lake in Kansas had great fishing, but awful weather according to Rex Gragg. A total of 423.9 pounds of fish was caught. Placing went as follows: 1^st-Rick Knorp 42 lbs 13 oz of fish, 2^nd-Robert Edwards 37 lbs 11 oz of fish, 3^rd – Jeff Sicard 34 lbs 8 oz of fish, 4^{th –}Chris Hallock 32 lbs 8 oz of fish, 5^th-Ramey Murrell 30 lbs 4 oz of fish. No bass were caught so Rex Gragg’s name was drawn for the Bass award. Big Walleye-Jeff VanZant with a 6 lb 1 oz walleye. Big Crappie-Larry Beuthin with a 3 lb 3 oz Crappie. A big thanks you to Rex Gragg for all of his hard work organizing the tournament!!!

Apprentice News

It is important to remember that you must have the following completed in order to advance to the next apprenticeship year of classes:

· All Unit Exams completed with a score of 70 or above

· 144 hours of classroom attendance

· Final Exam taken with a score of 70 or above

There will be no retakes on the Final Exam-if you do not pass you cannot advance to the next year.
