Local 12 Retiree, Joe Vorbeck passed away on Friday, January 27th.

December 1st, 2010:

Bob Huntsman’s wife phoned the Local 12 office this morning and said Bob passed away yesterday (November 30th, 2010) from a stroke. He retired in 1987 and was 84 years old.  We will post the arrangements as soon as we get them.

December 2nd, 2010:
Independence, MO —

Robert M. “Bob” Huntsman, 84 of Independence, Missouri, passed away, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Cremation is planned with a visitation at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 with a brief memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel.

Donations may be made in his name to the Salvation Army.

Bob was born October 12, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Tom and Ada (Clark) Huntsman and has been a lifelong area resident graduating form East High School in 1944. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served during WWII. He had worked for a number of years constructing elevators for the Otis Elevator Company in Kansas City until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Local #12 Elevators Union in Kansas City, MO.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma of the home; 2 daughters, Denise Critcher and her husband Paul of Olathe, KS and Carol Parnell of Independence, MO; a sister, Dr. Geraldine Michael of Blue Springs, MO; 4 grandchildren, Jamie Critcher, Carrie Critcher, Randi Parnell and Barbara Ruth Bain and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Huntsman in 2002.
